Meet our providers

Christie Leal, D.O.Christie Leal, D.O.

Elgin Community Health Center

Dr. Leal received her Doctor or Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed a Family Medicine residency at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York.

Dr. Leal is not new to Southwest Oklahoma. In fact, she taught eighth grade English for seven years at Lawton Public Schools before moving to Erie, Pennsylvania to pursue her dream of becoming a physician.

“After 9-11, my husband and I were discussing the uncertainty of life and living out our dreams. He asked me what my dream in life was and I told him ‘to become a doctor.’ Having lived his dream of being a radio DJ, he said it was time for me to pursue mine. It was a 10 year journey, but it was worth it.”

Dr. Leal currently lives in Elgin with her husband Mike, who is a member of the Elgin Fire Department. During her free time, Dr. Leal is learning to quilt.

“I’m glad to be back home. I look forward to building relationships with my patients and providing multigenerational care to the Elgin community for many years to come.”
